Run Grandma Run

After a bit of effort, we managed to catch up to this speed demon and were able to cheer her on. Grandma seemed to be at the head of the pack. She didn't even look tired after 3 days and only 5 miles to go. We are proud of you Grandma!!

More on the Midway

Booms Away!!!

Aren't these about the two most hansom guys you have ever seen!!!

This was the anchor room. Each of the links in this chain weighted something like 120lbs, crazy. Jason has a blast walking on the chain with the help of Aunt Sheila and Uncle Mike.

San Diego

We recently had the opportunity to visit San Diego. Grandma Schulze participated in the three day walk for breast cancer there and we all came to see her cross the finish line. While we were there went to the USS Midway a retired aircraft carrier. It was HUGE!! We all had fun touring the ship. There are more pics of the fun we had on this trip but my computer is not cooperating at this time. So coming soon more pics of San Diego and Grandmas Race :)

Daddy's little helper

Have we mentioned how Jason love to help with everything. If he sees someone doing anything of interest he right there trying to do the same. He loves to follow Dad around when he is building things. Jason steal the tools when Dad isn't looking. This day Dad and Jason were making a stand and box to attach to Busters cage.

No tricks, just treats

Mmmmmmm.... Cake. My friend Paulina and I made this fun and spooky Frankenstein's Bride cake on Thursday. We has a blast and it tasted pretty good too. I then was inspired to make a Jack-o-lantern cake, which I donated to nurses at work because heaven knows one person it not meant to eat so much cake.

Bath Time

Tonight Jason had a fun little boy adventure. Daddy and Jason went for a walk all around the block of our neighborhood, and Jason walked on his own without holding Daddy's hand most of the way; exploring gravel and weeds, pointing at dogs and trucks and just really looking at the world around him. When we got back home Mommy was preparing a bath for Jason and when he heard the water running, filling the tub, he just got so excited. Jason loves baths. He ran to the bathroom and before Mommy and Daddy could tell what he was up to, Jason jumped the bath tub wall (which he has never been able to do on his own before) and "splash", got right into his bath, clothes and shoes and diaper and all. Did we already say how he loves his baths? Well, once in the damage was done and you know what he did, he started washing himself on his own as well.

Sad Day

Unfortunately we have sad news to report. Last night we lost our little kitty Oliver. He was having a hard time being so young and without his mama. I thought that he was getting sick, but there wasn't much we could do to help him. Yesterday evening he past away.

My Little Farm

So this is my little farm, as my friend Ruth calls it. You all know and love the highly intelligent Jessie. Houdini the parakeet is new to the family as of June. He is a bit of an escape artist. New as of last week are Buster bunny and Oliver the orphan kitty. The kitty was found in the yard by Jessie and we have been taking care of him. He is probably only two weeks old at the most. Then last but not least we have Oreo, who as you can see is not at all thrilled about all of the new comers. He has always been rather antisocial.

Mmmmm Cake

Unfortunately the first day of school was also James' birthday. To make the pain and stress of dealing with teenagers on his birthday a bit more bearable Jason and I delivered balloons and candy to his class room. When he got home there was this delicious home made from scratch cake waiting for him.

Visisting Great Grandma in California

Last week we went to California to help Grandma after her recent car accident. Grandma is doing well, in fact it was hard to make her act like a patient. On Thursday we decided she would benefit from some "beach therapy". We all had a great time and Grandma loved soaking up the rays.

Having fun pool side!!!

Up up and away!

The plane ride home proved to be very entertaining. Jason was lucky enough to have his own window set. He had a great time playing with the shade. He was quite a good traveler on the way home from our fun vacation.

At the Mile High City

Jason had fun play with Grandma Jeanie in Colorado. He also got to see his cousins Anna and Will.

Jason gave Dad a Fathers Day snuggle. Vacations can be tiring! Dad also got a very cool radar detector for Fathers Day. Now Dad can let the race car driver in him come out.

FUN IN IDAHO

Sarah and I raced up the side of an old volcano. I am not sure who won. The wind was so strong it about blew us
over.

One day while we were in Idaho we went to Craters Moon. We explored all of the volcanic formations and rocks. It is a very unique and beautiful landscape. We brought a picnic with us. Jason ate almost all the strawberries and was very upset when we ran out.

We had so much fun at the Hogle Zoo that we decided to check out the zoo in Idaho Falls. Jason and I watched the lion snooze in the hot afternoon sun. Jason and Dad pet the goat in the petting zoo. We had great day at the zoo with Grandma Gloria and Aunt Sarah.

We all met Grandma Gloria for lunch in the park. Jason showed off his new walking skills and enjoyed a swing with Dad.

Jason was happy to see Great Grandma Ricks and see her new house.
